Yoga Nidra and Live All-Acoustic Set

Opening with basic information on breath, lucid dreaming and background information about Indian Classical music. Thirty minutes of simple guided postures - longer holds aimed at getting people comfortable in the space and preparing the body for meditation and rest.

The guided postures will be followed by a live, acoustic multi-instrumental music set. Each set is unique and improvised based on astrological conditions of the time of the event. The focus this time will be the unusual movements of Pluto in the year 2024, particularly Pluto’s journey to Capricorn in November. Pluto rules the Underworld and more relatably, the subconscious. Relevant storytelling about notable mythological transits to the Underworld while playing. Prompts for lucid dreaming shared during the set.

The music is based on study of North and South Indian Classical percussion. Much of the playing will be based on the ‘thekas’ - often described and rumored to be the first compositions of each time cycle in North India.

Sumeet Banerji is a lifelong student of sound, posture and dreaming. 

His studies in music began under the influence of his grandmother Sushri Shanti Banerji. Her guidance led him to ancient and esoteric branches of Indian music and gave him the confidence to study with world renowned masters.

Based in San Francisco, he continues to develop and adapt these learnings to the contexts of sleep, meditation and subconscious exploration.
